The Suicide Squad 2 leak suggests that Peacemaker could set up a sequel.
Despite being a hugely powerful woman, the rumor is that after the Peacemaker season one is able to establish a sequel or another spin-off that directly continues the story of the movie, Amanda Waller, with a revenge for her humiliation by Bloodsport and the remaining members of Task Force X. James Gunn has already begun teasing a possible sequel or further spin-off after Peacemaker, so this rumor sounds extremely possible. The rumor came from KC Walsh, editor-in-chief of the GWW, via commenter’s appearance on theChange My Mind podcast, the same place where Walsh leaked the villain of James Gunn’s other superhero project Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Walsh describes the Suicide Squad project as “Waller and Suicide Squad.” Because Waller has failed to do his plan in The Suicide Squad, Walsh asks “what’s the best way to escape a mess for Amanda Waller? Kill all the witnesses.” They suggest this could just be Peacemaker Season 2 but then Walsh also says that it could be a sequel that could “bring all the people back from the first two films,” and including Will Smith as Deadshot. To be honest, the difference between the two films is important. However, a sequel that bridges the gap would be welcomed by many fans. On January 13th, Peacemaker will air on HBO Max.
