Both teams were familiar in Berlin after Gambit Esports walked away with the Masters 3 trophy only a few months before Acend was eliminated early by 100 Thieves. Since the events grand final had already finished a clean 3-0 for the first time in VALORANT history, it wasn’t a clean day. During the two Masters: Reykjavik and Masters: Berlin the games got pretty fast and Sentinels won by 3-0 against Definal and Gambit in a clean 3-0 win over Envy. Ascent began to re-map the map of Ascent as a second and a half-point sequence, then the history went wrong. When the series got underway, Gambit answered back with one of the most clinical performance of the franchise seen at Champions. Gambit only allowed Acend to get one round during the first half, making the lead 11-1 in their favor. Despite the back-to-back rounds received by Acend in order to make the bleeding stop, Gambit walked away with the 13-3 victory to give them the series point. However, even on series point, Acend refused to step away with a 3-1 loss. For Icebox, Gambit couldn’t take their lead and eventually slipped into overtime, and Acend agreed to take it again, and a tie with the series.

The two teams took advantage of one of the original maps, dating to the Split version in the Second World War. The lead loss from Gambit on Icebox gave them a back-strap during the final map of the series. Initially, Acend took the lead, seemingly running around Gambit all over the map and at every turn. However, what appeared to be a pathetic for Gambit as they returned to the game to a five-county. At the end, Acend held on and won from Gambit. Acend won the first VALORANT champion title, though he went down 2-1 in the series to Gambit despite all odds he was beaten by. It didn’t matter they hadn’t won the Masters since Stage 1, they were hanging on to claim their biggest trophy of the year. Pro-Galast player Patryk starxo Kopczynski came big against the Gambit team. With his 0.96 G.S. scale on Sage, Viper and Astra, he sunk and put down on sites with ease to take Acend over the edge of victory.
