Jonah Lobe, the engineer responsible for Alduins design, revealed this information in a new documentary that has been found on his YouTube page. A film that titled Skyrim Documentary celebrates the 10th anniversary of the game and sees Lobe joining other developers who worked on the game. Together they share a story of the games development cycle and reminisce about what it was like to collaborate on the project before it had been known how big of an instant. It was during a segment of the video entitled What makes Skyrim so special? Where Lobe revealed he hasn’t encountered his final-boss creation yet in the game. In this episode, Lobe talks with programmer Jean Simonet about how expansive Skyrim is and how rewarding it is to lose in the lots of side quests they have to offer. Here, Lobe explains that I never lost sight of Skyrim, Alduin and the whale bridge you cross to reach him, but I never actually saw them at games. When asked why he hasn’t crossed paths with Skyrims fiercest dragon, Lobe responds with I didn’t always get there, I was too distracted. It seems like those side quests were too good for Lobe to pass over and blaming him. After the journey over which Skyrim is undergoing its development, one of the best aspects of Skyrim is that free reign players will be given a chance once the preparation for the first leg. The ability to experiment and become lost in a world teeming with quests and stories is probably the reason it remains so popular a decade after its first release. Hopefully, Lobe’s design will be able to be seen in action in the next 10 years.
