Pocket was announced in October 2019 to allow users to legally play retro titles without relying on software-based emulation. This handheld gaming device supports Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance cartridges; optional adapters also offer the ability to play games made for the Neo Geo Pocket, Game Gear, and Atari Lynx. Those games will be played on a 3.5-inch display that will allow us to show full visual effects of playing a game, a game, or a game with a feature called Original Display Modes. Analogue also sells an optional dock for Bluetooth and wireless controller support. This is an optional dock that can play these games on TVs. Analogue originally said that the device will cost $199 by 2020. The company started to accept the Pocket in August 2020, with an official debut scheduled for the year before June 25th. The company announced in April that it was delaying the Pocket’s launch until October and, in September, it said, that shipments were scheduled to be delayed again until December. It is finally time that the Pocket will be making its way to pre-order customers. Among those who ordered, a message was sent. “Due to the limited volume of the shipyard, your order is to ship and be delivered from December 14 to December 30.” The book says it can delay shipment until Jan. 3:20.22. Analogue said it’ll start to accept a few items for the Pocket on Dec. 14 as well, but with some catches. First, “the cost of high-quality parts” has risen to 221. The second is that this pre-order will ship in three different batches: one in the first quarter of 2022, one in the fourth quarter of 2022, and one in the 2023. Unfortunately, there won’t be any way to find out when the Pocket will be expected to ship at checkout. “Fulfillment groups will be assigned on first served basis,” says Analogue. You will update your order by a few days after you place your order and will reflect what fulfillment group you’re in.” However, the company will give refunds to people who have canceled their order.
