On June 9th, fans are waiting for their first military shooter. And unlike annualised Call of Duty games, we’re not guaranteed an average Battlefield rate every year (the last one comes out in 2018) so when we buy one, it’s worth it. This years entry promises to shake things up a lot with the move of the series action into an expected future setting, with extreme weather making it possible for a full change of the online experience, and abandoning the notion of a single player campaign entirely. Here’s a breakdown of everything you should know about the unplanned release schedule.
When will Battlefield 2042 get released?
Battlefield 2042 is technically not available until Friday, November 19 at that date. EA has recently begun to establish new releases for its most popular titles. At the moment, the players will be able to sign up for an existing subscription with various date options. It was also true for FIFA 22, which was released in September or October, depending on how you obtained it. For the EA Play-members, an early access trial of Battlefield 2042 is now available. Because EA Play is built with Xbox Games Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, it also applies to those with these subscriptions. If you redeem this trial, you can play Battlefield 2042 for ten hours before the official release date. If you were concerned with losing your progress, be assured that it will be carried over from the early access period to the full launch on November 19. At least those who purchase EA Plays which cost a lot of money, and who order the Gold and the Ultimate Edition of Battlefield 2042, are entitled to full access to the game starting today (Friday 12). Battlefield 2042 offers three different modes of multiplayer. All-Out Warfare gives you the classic Battlefield scenarios that we all love, and the battles of all sizes (from up to 128 players) are going on the ground, in the air, and in the sea. The Battlefield Portal is basically a sandbox mode where you can make your own rules and create bizarre matchups that would otherwise be impossible (for example, if you had Apache helicopters to take part in famous WW2 conflicts). Finally there is Hazard Zone, a more tactical mode where you join a four-strong squad and must carry out a collection of intel scattered across the map to fight the enemy and avoid the threat of the advancing storm. It’s almost a variant of the classic wartime model seen in games like Call of Duty and Fortnite.
