To seek new players, Battlefield 2042 is temporarily free to play and on sale over the weekend. After the launch of Battlefield 2042, the game started to get better and better. He’s not without his positives, but he still is riddled with bugs and other technical problems, and many players have complained because of the lack of some special features. Although games player reception is hugely negative on Steam, EA and DICE are eagerly wishing to improve Battlefield 2042s standing. For now, the answer seems to be letting everybody play it for free this weekend. The three battlefield editions are not only discounted until December 22. So standard edition is 32.99, and 42.99, Gold Edition is 61.59, and 80.99, and Deluxe Edition is 90.99. It seems obvious the challenge is for new players to try free and enjoy it enough to buy it, with the lower price making it more enjoyable. As of now, the yearly offers for the weekend and the discounts are certainly applicable for the Steam release. The Battlefield 2042s listings listed in the PlayStation and Xbox store did not mention anything about a free weekend. It doesn’t seem to be a thing inside a EA storefront, either. The stores that play with the PS4 and Xbox offer discounts, but they are completely different and not as generous as that offered by Steam. The Epic Games Store offers the same discounts for Battlefield 2042 that Steam does, but it seems that the free weekend is for some reason entirely exclusive to Steam. In earlier this month, an insider claimed Battlefield 2042 is the fastest selling entry in the series, but that doesn’t mean its profitable and Steam Charts showed that player retention has dropped significantly over the last month. In spite of the struggles, EA seems committed to its ambitious plans for a more vast and interconnected Battlefield universe. The CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella, is now in charge of the franchise. Battlefield 2042 is available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
