In an interview with the CEO of the company, Henderson proclaimed the call for Duty 2022 is a dual-gen game. That means it will be on PS4 and PS5 and X|S as well as the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. And of course, it will be on PC. As for this, Henderson notes that “there’s currently believed” that this is the final call of duty game coming to the PS4 and Xbox One. This is not yet written in stone, meaning it “depends on the console market conditions”. In other words, the following installment might be cross-gen, if the Xbox Series X and the PS5 aren’t enough or expensive to buy in 2023, it’ll likely happen again. “Modern Warfare II (2022) will both stand now and at present, said Henderson. “Time is in the past, this is the last call of duty coming to past generation consoles, but eventually that will depend on the market conditions.” So, what’s the problem? It seems like many players believe that last-gen consoles will hold the game back. It’s bad news. I mean, we’re not going to see a big difference in the graphic. It would be better if cities are born with new generations. Ali Elmhrek (@Almhrek) December 10, 2021 Why last gen? Games are getting back on the back of the season. (@EvOLLzz) January 10-2021 Of course, while those worry can be true, they’re overstated. Any team that makes games from both consoles and PCs, is used to developing a large number of platforms on a variety of levels. In addition to pure graphical fidelity, Call of Duty isn’t exactly known for pushing the technical and design limitations of gaming. Thus, the idea that future consoles will be able to support the development of next year’s installment is not as relevant as it would be if this was GTA 6 or The Witcher 4. Do you agree with the fans of COD above? Is this new report bad news for the installment next year?
