In the first frame of the ad shown below are two phrases: “On PC’s so free.” This product is not available on other consoles until at least 09-14-22.” So we now know when Deathloop is possible on Xbox. Deathloop is a new game from 2019 but it was approved and shown as a PlayStation exclusive game during the Xbox 2020 E3 presentation. Microsoft bought Arkane Studios a year back in part of the big Bethesda/ZeniMax deal last year. At that time, that raised questionable questions about whether Microsoft would honor the deals signed by the studios it owned now, but the answer came soon after the ink was dry: yes, Microsoft would honor any exclusive game contracts signed before Bethesda acquisition. Future games would probably be PC and Xbox exclusives, but Deathloop would be a PS5 exclusive for at least one year. This year seemed to commence on September 14. We should see the Xbox version of Deathloop coming on September 14, 2022, but note the language didn’t necessarily exclude a Switch version of Deathloop. You shouldn’t play Deathloop if you didn’t play it. This game has reached nearly all the top ten list of 2021 and has already become the year’s most famous game.
