Fortnite’s first season of its latest chapter finally brings Spider-Man to the island. He has given his many major advantages, such as the ability to swing around the map with his web-shooters. Although it was expected that the developer would continue to do their work, the players stayed focused on the problem. They saw that one of Spider-Man’s emotes was called “pay-to-win.” Spidey, like most Fortnite characters, has its own built-in emote called “Neighbourly Hang”. Spider-Man shoots a web onto the air while he hangs it out. The emote has no timer attached to it, so players can hang in the air as long as they like it and Spider-Man doesn’t make any noises to help players spot him. Players use this to hide Spider-Man from the ground and kill opponents that do not want to look up to the ceiling. Some players are even creating traps for other players by placing powerful guns under themselves and waiting for others to come into the room to pick them up, before jumping down and taking them out. Several videos of Fortnite players using Spider-Man’s emote to win matches spread across YouTube and TikTok, many players claiming that the skin gives a pay-to-win advantage. Players can pick battle stars to unlock Spider-Man and his unique emote wherever they want. Players who know this emote can be purchased could buy him just to have an advantage. Epic hasn’t yet commented on the emote, but footage from players using this in games will be revealed to the extent that it can be overpowered, for example. This situation is similar to the Deep Dab exploit, which allowed players to turn an emote onto the ground and connect different structures.
