As explained by Windows Central, We Happy Few developer Compulsion is working on a new game called Midnight in its first release on Xbox Game Studios. A third-person adventure game in a dark fantastical world, this tale is described by many as the coming of age tale inspired by the American deep-out with a southern gothic vibe. The game is a single-player experience and the concept art features the black female protagonist and a harpy-like enemy. It’s not yet known when Midnight will be released. Image from Windows Central. The second game, which belongs to Obsidian, is named Pentiment and will be an indie-style effort from a team led by Joe Sawyer, who led the Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity teams. A criminal sees him as an investigator in the 16th century to uncover the truth of a grisly murder. The name of the game refers to an underlying image of a painting that’s released once the top layer becomes transparent from the age of the game. Sawyer is known for branching narrative patterns. These will be present here and inspired by the likes of Disco Elysium. Expect an indebted narrative that covers issues of dialogue and involving allegations and consequences to your decisions. Prison sentence will be released in 2022. This is just two more examples of how Microsoft invests in its first-party studios and projects. It definitely blew up after forza Horizon 5 success.
