The Hystou F9 comes in a rectangular shape with 9 x 5.8 x 2″ square footage. The Hystou F9 is made of an aluminum alloy casing with plastic inserts and offers an interesting array of I/O connections: 2x HDMI, 2x Mini Display, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 4x USB 3.0 Type-A, 4x USB 2.0 Type-A, a single USB 3.1 Type-C cable, a 3.5mm audio jack, and integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. External storage is expanded with 2x M.2 2280, e.g. NVMe drives (PCIe 3.0) and 1x 2.5 inch SATA drives (either SSD or mechanical). Image 1 of 3 – This is the first picture to be taken. All of them have a 4thread, 8thread design; the differences lie in TDp, clockspeed, and the performance of the integrated AMD graphics subsystem. Vega GH packs in 24 CUs (offering performance as the GTX 1060, and Vega GL, 20 CUs). In fact, Hystou is giving users access to silicon that Intel has never made available through its Hades Canyon initiative. Intel’s 7-705G and 7-709G were never real choices from Intel. The lower-tier hardware option makes the price low by $2.2 billion via Aliexpress. The Chinese e-tail giant only carries the Intel Core i5-8305 and i7-8705G options, but the other two devices only are available through Hystou’s website. The computer that you buy is the basic cost of the software. It would allow you, or you, to go into DDR4 RAM, storage, and an operating system, however there are many options that add up to 64 GB of RAM (dual-stick) and a 512 GB SSD. As for Kaby Lake-G, support, but all of all, was spotty. Windows 10 was finally abandoned by Intel, and eventually by AMD, which prevented Kaby Lake-G from its mainstream driver release in June 2020. Recently a graphics driver update made available to AMD has supported Kaby Lake-G with Windows 11 expanded its lifetime, allowing the latter to go on in a hurrah. For instance, considering the historic platform and drivers difficulties in Hades Canyon, deciding the Hystou F9 with a more modern option doesn’t seem the best choice, unless you like the idea of owning a piece of silicon designed both by AMD and Intel.
