Jenni Lada, Siliconera: What did the FFVII The First Soldier close the beta and what did it do with your expectations? Shoichi Ichikawa, Square Enix: Thank you for the positive response! It exceeded our expectations in both Japan and the West. Given its game affANTASY VII series, we thought even fans who may not become the interested would also interested in battle royale games, so we had the option of a game cycle and control scheme which would be easy for beginners to take up. We really enjoyed the support of the development plan. Environmentally, it was great to see that battle royale fans snorked in the pursuit of classics such as Styles and materia, increasing their popularity, among other things. What of the five greatest ever class of the year’s premier soldiers was created and equated? Was one easier to work with the other? Ichikawa: The Warrior Style was chosen earliest, during the initial concept phase. So we wanted to create a style that would excel in carrying a sword. And just so happens that Warrior style became one of the hardest to pull together. We heard comment from several players who participated in upcoming beta testing, but as far as the words are concerned, the gun is capable better than the sword, but it was very difficult to apply a sword to the sword. We emphasized that every attack’s approach is different from each other. The FFVII First Soldier Ninja Style was revealed at the TGS 2021. What do you think it does compare to other styles? Ikikowa: Mobility is an important word of my life. Ninja is the only style with a double jump, with more traits that specialize in movement, such as the ability to improve movement speed for a specific time after receiving damage. Besides the Hide ability, a name that lives up to Ninja’s name, players can turn themselves invisible as long as they get through, and surprise attacks that use their mobility. This style provides a large range of strategies depending on the person who uses it. Six types of summon materia has gone to FFVII The First Soldier – Bahamut, Ifrit and Shiva. How did you decide to include them first? How do you think the additional summon material roll out will look at at the first time you play the game? Ikka: We plan on adding more materials for future, so please keep updated for our current updates. The same goes for summons. We plan to add this in future updates. When it comes to summons, each has distinct and powerful effects, so timing-wise, thought about adding them by season because of its overall impact on the game among other things. The first troops will officially go to FFVII. How did you prepare it? Ichikawa: This goes without saying, but we started working on supporting controller inputs. To be sure, we was able to adjust the response/sensitivity of all controllers, to create multiple attack methods. The problem is always if there are no lags. Moreover, on the mobile computer, there is a problem when a controller comes to the controller. We’ve seen the FFVII costume costumes, like The First Soldier. How are you feeling about crossovers or series? Geikowa: We plan on doing a lot of things. While we can’t disclose anything, we wish to release several costumes, some who totally draw on Final Fantasy VII designs, and other items that appeal to both Final Fantasy fans and newcomers who will be able to experience Final Fantasy for the first time through this game. Would you mind FFVII First Army going to other platforms, like the Switch or the PC? Do you think that would be possible? Ichikawa: Right now we’ve just opened the pre-registration and are putting all our energy into the release. We understand that battle royale is compatible with PC/console devices and can carry cross-platform support. However, we want the feedback from the player. Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is coming in both Android and Apple iOS in November 2021. Registration and application process are open.
