This week, Take-Two Interactive — the company of Rockstar Games, 2K, and Private Division — announced that it had canceled a game that lasted for 53 years. In a new era, the company said this game was bully 2, but it is according to the industry insider and the Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier. According to the website, Schreier says the game in question is called a project-named Volt, which existed by Hangar 13 since 2017 in a similar way. According to the report Volt would be a new IP; Hangar 13 didn’t work on a new Mafia game since early attempts failed in 2016-2017. If Hangar 13 survives the cancellation, you’d assume they won’t receive a new IP from them and are now going to be switched to a far safer investment for Take-Two Interactive, which would be Mafia 4. However, even if that happens, it’ll probably be some year before the hypothetical game begins. In order to answer the question, Mafia 4 is not in development. If this is fine, it could change soon, but even if this is not true, Mafia fans will be waiting a while for a new movie. What’s strange about this situation is that 2K has recently remade the first Mafia game, remastered the second game, and re-releasing the third game if there’s no fourth, which was quite difficult. It doesn’t stick. At the moment of the publication, no one of the parties involved has responded to such a problem. We don’t expect that to change, but if it does, we’ll be sure to update the story accordingly.
