The Open Beta will take place again on PlayStation. It runs from Friday, December 17, until Monday, December 20. Players can take the new sequel for several rounds in the ring – while they check out online and online unranked matches, as well as the title tutorial and training mode. Crossplay and rollback netcode are both enabled. To shake things up, SNK is changing the roster of selectable characters, giving players a chance to Select teh Ordah from a team comprising of Krohnen, Isla, Meitenkun, Antonov, K, Blue Mary, Ryo Sakazaki, and the incomparable Terry Bogard. If you want to wait, who is Krohnen? Now that is part of today’s news: Krohnen is a totally new character to the XV and King of the War era. Seeing from his trailer above, Krohnen is an evil-boy biker rebel, and most certainly a warrior. Die-hard KoF enthusiasts will recognize both his moveset and his design, as well as those of K9999, a lawsuit-baiting defendant who made his Tetsuo-like debut in KoF in 2002 before his lawyers aknockin. Krohnen seems to be a revamped version of this character. King of Fighters, XV launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, on February 17th. Then you can see my thoughts on the most recent beta here. While some still struggle to fully accept the 2.5D style, the gameplay remains clear, regardless of whether King of Fighters XV will find space in the crowded fighting game market. Well have to wait and see.
