New products inspired by Chinese cultures and traditions. The LEGO Group revealed seven new LEGO sets at the International Import Exhibition in China, on April 4, 2015. The new sets feature three products inspired by Chinese tradition and culture, and four new sets from the popular Lego Mario theme. Paul Huang, senior vice president of the LEGO Group and general manager of LEGO China, said we’re delighted to introduce a record number of new products to the CIIE while celebrating the power of play and the power of children’s creative resilience at the important expo. We bring sets inspired by China culture and traditions, and products that allow people to remake the LEGO building experience. We will also be using the CIIE to showcase the creativity potential of children who are a master of creative problem solving, and that they can develop essential life skills through play. The new sets include: LEGO World Wide Web Explorer presents a space voyage under the Monkie Kids team of heroes, fighting for their shields, to protect the green ring of fire stored in the iconic spaceship. The set also features a launch pad on the spaceship and an automatic lunar rover. LEGO Monkie Kid was created in May 2020. The LEGO Group has its first theme in a Chinese legend’s Journey to the West. LEGO Lunar New Year Traditions celebrates the autumn tradition with six modules. There are many options for Spring Festival Shopping, making great luck decorations, watching the New Year countdown, and exchanging shamaan red envelopes of Hongbao as the god of wealth. Each module sets three Chinese New Year pictures to help children learn Chinese customs through play. The LEGO Lunar New Year Ice Festival shows the joyful scene of an Ice Skating Park, where children celebrate the Chinese New Year through summer activities in a beautiful Ice and Snow setting, like jumping on the lake and swimming with penguins, and taking photos in a pavilion. As an added surprise, a tiger minifigure is included in the year that marks the Tiger year in 2022. LEGO Super Mariosty sets include LEGO Super Mario Bowser Jr.’s Clown Car Expansion Set, LEGO Super Mario Dorries’ Beachfront Expansion Set, LEGO Super Mario Big Urchin’s Beach Ride Expansion Set and LEGO Super Mario Character Packs Series 4. LEGO Super Mario was launched in 2020, the product line lets kids experience the playful world of the game in a completely new way. LEGO Monkie Kids Galactic Explorer will be available in China and Asia Pacific from December 25, 2021. LEGO Lunar New Year Traditions and LEGO Lunar New Year Ice Festival will be available for China and Asia Pacific from December 25, 2021. The 4 LEGO Super Mario sets will be launched in China on January 18, 2022.

The LEGO Group announced a new partnership with Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, to bring a positive result to children. The gardens will host LEGO Build the Change events for more than 10,000 children in the next three years. The two parties will continue together to provide children with the opportunity to develop their ideas for a sustainable future. The company signed a brief deal recently with the Chinese Association of Blinds and the Beijing Braille Press in order to start the LEGO LEGO Bricks project in China. The program gives a child with disabilities a choice for the ability to learn the braille through play at hands-on and fun times. The national scale of the program is built on the success of a trial program and covers four schools for visually impaired children in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taian.
