The AAA IP was announced in the LinkedIn profile of the technical game developer Drew Williams-Rostron, who worked that role in Lucid Games from August 2020 until October 2021. The unannounced AAA IP would fit perfectly with the rumors that have suggested that the developer is reviving the Twisted Metal franchise. Twisted Metal has been released in 2012. The new game is slated to be a free-to-play title that will be released in 2023 along with Twisted Metal Live-action series in production at Sony Pictures Television. In the meantime Lucid Games continues to work on the free-to-play Defendants alligator and they’re putting together another large update for January 2022. The update will include a redesign of the games main menu to focus more on party members and players. The HUD has been updated as well, removing some items and others increasing, so that we can better understand what’s happening in game. More visual effects are needed in the game like double jump and vehicle slams. The Wreckognition System is being updated very fast. It’s been an emergency time since the Hero Vehicle and AllStar Breaker abilities move quickly throughout the game. The updates from January should not happen. Instead, players must takeovers, evades and wreck opponents to play a part with them to play more effectively. Lucid Games promises more details on this in the future. Once the match finished, the post-match displays, too, have been overhauled. XP earned will be broken down so players can easily see their strengths and weaknesses. The post match screen shows players how to show off skins, avatars, banners and emotes. Using this screen, players can also view the full match scoreboard, give players accolades, leave the main menu or jump back into the matchmaking. The update will be released on January 26. The current HotShots AllStar Pass will be to expire at that time, too. With this update as discussed, the team explained that it has definitely been in place to clarify that there won’t be any festive seasonal content introduced this month, so we’ll need your snow, ice and the bright lights on somewhere else.
