Combat in the Expeditions: Rome is turned-based. Characters can move in a way that suits them. This is dependent on their armor. Light armor gives it easier to move, while heavy armor protects the earth. Once a character moved, they can attack an enemy with whatever weapons they’ve got. Players can build special abilities on the character’s face. This allows them to gain advantage in battle. Between skirmishes it is possible to upgrade weapons and armor as well as enhance the skill of others, making characters even more formidable in a fight. Of course the more experience a character gains throughout the battle, the more threat they are. If they wish to enter victories after a siege, they must master the weapons and the shields their characters have. Each campaign ends with the siege on a specific enemy stronghold; players need to manage more than their characters so that they break up walls and take down a whole city of enemies.
