Nintendo of America recently confirmed that it is close to its two North American offices. The two buildings are Redwood City, California, and Toronto, Canada. Nintendo of America announced plans to relocate employees in satellite offices in Redmond, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia. Apart from the closures of the offices, they announced the resignation of Nick Chavez, the company’s top-secret director of sales and marketing. Devon Pritchard will become CEO of the company. According to sources gathered by the news website Kotaku, the closure of two offices has displaced an estimated 100 employees. There were no further details about the 100 displaced workers’ fate, whether they were to transfer or laid off from the company. Nintendo, as well as its emergence from the COVID-19 pandemic, has forced some workers to work alone or on a simple and skeletal function. While company adjustments are underway, Nintendo did not delay the release of the OLED model of the Nintendo Switch on October 8. In 2017, the company released the first version of its successful and best-selling handheld gaming console, which sold 89,04 million units worldwide. The number of units sold has already been better than those of previous handheld consoles (the 3DS, Game Boy Advance, DS, Wii, and Game Boy), and it is fourth best-selling console. The Nintendo Switch has allowed developers and publishers to rerelease some current popular titles for both old and new fans. I know that the most popular Nintendo Switch games are Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Legend of Zelda: Battle of the Wild, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses.
