The ArenaNet streamed an early look at this nostalgic city over the weekend, beginning by building a new ground for many players. Tengu is made up of many resources, said Rubi Bayer of ArenaNets. That is not a hint at playable Tengu; playable Tengu aren’t a thing in End of Dragons. There’s not much hope to those who met their hopes, but if you were a bird fan, you’d be very happy with them, they’d at least see much of them in the same zone, in new and unique forms. Morgan Lockhart explained that while the human ministry of Purity long ago tried to expel non-humans from Cantha, a group of Tengu called the Kestrels hid themselves in Echovald Forest. Once the Ministry is gone, they created a city — which appears to be the primary hub of this zone — and the Kestrels, who accept Tengu and humans alike, now serve as the protectors of Echovald Forest. Two human gangs, named the Speakers and Jade Brothers, are waiting for repression in the U.S. and Canal. As you study this zone and learn about their intentions, you’ll get to know these gangs fighting the other side. One area where you’ll go to them should familiarize the Guild Wars 1 fan and the Kurzicks: the ruins of House zu Heltzer that are apparently turned into a tourist attraction. In response to the devs on stream, they discussed the new Metaevent of Echovald, which involves helping the Kestrels destabilize the warring gangs and help the city to their own advantage.
