After attempting to answer a question, about the necessity of consuming food and drinks in the forthcoming MMO, Game Director Aidan Karabaich said that the activities are not strictly required, but they all do have multiple benefits, making it difficult to do something like cooking very useful. He also added that these systems are oriented towards strong benefits, such as reliant on them, and strong penalties for not paying off.
