You might think that that’s a bit weird, coming as the new COVID-19 variant grips the region in another wave of the formerly two-year-old pandemic. The number of deaths in Massachusetts, where many patients have died, is growing in the past two weeks. Although there was a huge spike in cases and a push for new safety measures like vaccine mandates, that does not justify a continued in-person event for video games. After canceling the 2021 show to protect the community, and successfully hosting safe events with Seattles PAX West and Philadelphias PAX Unplugged, PAX East will require mandatory evidence of vaccination and face coverings to all attendees, exhibitors, and guests in the BCEC. Next time, there will be additional health and safety information shared on the PAX East site. The wave will finally pass, but in the meantime, it will not happen as well, so go ahead. Source: PAX
