Known by Eurogamer, that spot was apparently unintentionally added to Pokemon Go and Ingress due to a bug. While these locations appeared to be one thing, in Niantic’s blog post, they stated they didn’t meet either of the games’ inclusion rules. “Trainers, a problem caused a few PokeStops and Gyms to appear on the map that don’t comply with Pokemon GO Wayspot inclusion rules,” said Niantic’s tweet. “We know that some of you were excited by these new PokeStops and Gyms and will preserve as many of these locations as possible.” Read on: Harry Potter: Wizards Unite’s Closure Proves No Game Can Do What Pokemon Go Did: Unfortunately this did not go well with Pokemon Go players, who many of them spent some time and money on these gyms, and now a refund is asked. “I spent a lot of real-world money and was very successful in finding gold on all the new gyms of my area. I wonder what kind of compensation it should be for people in such a situation?” said one of the many such replies in the tweet. Pokemon Go is in fact Niantic’s most popular game. Even though it was the first game of Harry Potter, Wizards Unite, the developer’s other game looks pretty bland, just 4% earns in the past three years. Given these numbers, it’s not surprising it took the drastic call to shut the Wizards Unite down.
