The newest episodes of the manga that are coming to Japan recently ended up on a major two-hour event that brought back Dawn, Cynthia, the Sinnoh region and its legendaries back to anime for a multiverse adventure. In the latest episode of the series, time was changing to the point that everyone’s Pokemon had devolved to their earlier stages, and with that, Ash filled out some of his Pokedex in the unique way that while, for a moment, he finally had a Haunter on his team. Took 25 years, but Ash finally got Haunter #Anipoke pic.twitter.com/Re78JgcDQQ. Anipoke Fandom (@Anipoke Fandom) December 10, 2021 Since Gengar was really the biggest take on Ash this season (with Dragonite and Lucario running out the popular fan favorite rosters), Episode 90 of the series rewinds the clock, so for a bit Ash has both a Haunter and Dragonite (as well as a Gastly and Dratini later), on his team. The Haunter is especially important given that it’s basically a shout-out to one of Ash’s most notable adventures in the first season of the series where he enlisted a group of ghosts in Lavender town before being defeated with Sabrina. The series of “The Tower of Terror” and “Haunter versus Kadabra” first aired in Japan in September 1997 and floated the idea of Haunter joining Ash, but became a much more special Pokemon that he had met in the past a few days that he didn’t officially add to his team. For one moment, it was official. It’s really fun to do that (in this dark moment) but it’s probably checking one another off the long awaited fan checklist. What do you think that Haunter is finally part of Ash’s team for a moment? Are you happy to see that now he finally has a Gengar on his side this time around?
