According to a brand-new report that was released by Bloomberg, sources familiar with Sony’s manufacturing plans, Sony is cutting its PS5 manufacturing numbers by roughly a million units. Then, Sony will produce one million more consoles between now and the end of its fiscal year (the end of March) than it anticipated to. What does this mean? Well, it means that the PS5 is going to be so hard this holiday season to buy than that was last season. And last holiday season was almost impossible to buy. Since the end of Sony’s fiscal year, the PlayStation makers are anticipating production of another 15 million PS5 consoles. That’s a lot of consoles, but it won’t be enough to meet demand, especially if the scalpers and the bots will continue to poach online restocks, and now, there is no indication that this will change. The reseller market for the PS5 is still quite profitable. For what it is worth, while Bloomberg is mostly and traditionally very reliable, they are incorrect in the past. There is a chance that this is faulty information, but from what we understand, it isn’t true. The lack of power supply is still behind production. The shipping crisis doesn’t continue to help.
