While it seems that it won’t be coming too soon, a report by insider Tom Henderson is believed. Henderson said the game will not be all that far from being out. The development struggles are partly due to the lack of new employee salaries, Henderson claims in the Tweet below. A few things about #StarWarsEclipse, written by QD Paris, (David Cage is part of the shambling) A fact is that the company is about three-to-four years away and is currently struggling with hiring staff (I wonder why) as is the fact that it’s just about time of year. Tom Henderson (@Tom_Henderson_) December 10 2021 As you can see in the Tweet, he sarcastically adds, I wonder why. This quip most likely is related to the controversies that Quantic Dream was a part of in the past. In 2018, three separate French news cites: Mediapart, Le Monde and Canard PC published reports that Quantic Dream would encourage a hostile work environment. These reports included allegations that managers were using inappropriate words, a toxic corporate culture, and a huge amount of work. Finally, The Guardian reported in 2018 that Photoshopped images of employees floated around the studio. These images depict employees wearing nazi uniforms, swimming costumes and sexualized nurse uniforms. The head of IT who made these matters clear, had then filed a complaint for wrongful dismissal against Quantic Dream. There were also allegations that studio heads David Cage and Guillaume de Fondaumiere went blind to these issues. They also were accused of the wrong behaviour themselves, but they have denied it. De aceea, it looks pretty apparent why developers are reluctant to work for Quantic Dream. That isn’t the only reason that the game will take much longer to develop. Tom Henderson claimed in a tweet in which he wrote that the game engine was also an issue, citing that it wasn’t designed for an Open-world game. The biggest in the dev side is the internal QD engine, which wasn’t built for an open-world title. There are currently 60 and 9 jobs for Quantic Dream in Paris and 9 in Montreal. https://t.co.b4lumbQmnN. Tom Henderson (@Tom_Henderson]) January 10, 2021 If development issues continue to arise, lack of staff could become a huge issue for Quantic Dream, and we could see the Star Wars Eclipse as being pushed even further than three- and four years.
