Dragon Buster was originally released in arcades in 1984 before reaching Japanese home computer market. It was launched on a side-scrolling adventure that would carry a path for a lot of users. In this game, a daring knight, Clovis, sat into a deep subterranean labyrinth in order to rescue the fair princess Celia from the powerful winged dragon, which is going to siege across the whole kingdom. Save the princess, save the dragon, save the kingdom. Classic. Check out the video below thanks to Old Classic Classic Gaming. Check out this awesome promo art also. Although highly unbiased, Dragon Buster featured some pretty impressive mechanics for its day. Such as multiple-choice routes, expansive dungeons, a map screen, an army of enemies, and even boss characters. The ports would go further, which includes short filming to re-write the story. Dragon Buster is considered a first video game with a replenishable on-screen health bar and a double-jump mechanic. In spite of its age and understandingly basic nature, it would serve as the blueprint for the ever-changing dungeon crawler genre. Among the many classics we enjoy today, include Dungeon Master, Diablo and Hades. Dragon Buster is available now on the Xbox One and the Xbox One console. It’s priced at around $8.
