By using the publisher’s proprietary Snowdrop engine the team can update the games and bring the gameplay to the modern era, and play in this way to get player satisfaction and expectation. The last Splinter Cell title was released on Playstation 3 so the team will try to improve the console generation gap to explore what this means to us, for light and shadow, for animation, for gameplay, for AI, for audio and gameplay. The gameplay is scarce now, although the team insists that it will be modern, but built on the rich history of the brands. The foundations of this game are preserved, meaning it won’t be an open world game. The linear game continues to reward players who observe situations, plan, and use their gadgets to outsmart the enemy creatively. Ubisoft is the studio that is trying to rebuild the 19-year-old game, which has just entered the early stages of development. They are the studio in which it was first titled Splinter Cell: Blacklist and there are many team members who have previously worked on the franchise. The studio is recruiting for many positions as part of a team’s formation. The remake of Splinter Cell likely will be the reason for the recently refiled trademark, although a brand new mainline game is also in development. Jeff Grubb claimed that tests have been carried out for a Splinter Cell-style game that combined familiar Splinter Cell actions with elements of the 2016 Hitman reboot. Ubisoft said the remake is building a solid foundation for Splinter Cell, but it may be a while while before we can know what that means. [Source: Ubisoft]
