The Portal-inspired game is still in open beta, with a official launch in 2022. In contrast, players must finish the battle pass for season 0 on the 30th of November, as the new season begins in December. A new patch notes the customs match additions. The players can now design their own matches based on the various types of matches, such as deathmatch, king of the hill, and more. By using map, player, mode and team options, players can create multiple variations of the game so they keep it fresh, then save them as presets to replay later. Those modifications can also be asymmetric, so two teams could have hugely different options: supercharged health, but no portals for one team and weak user-friendly health for the other. Splitgate is free-to-play and has got over 15m downloads, and a tonne of content already available. The addition of custom matches will provide a lot of longevity before the game is actually going to launch next year.
