In a recent release of Yoshidas, a report mentioning the fact that after two weeks since the start of Early Access, players still struggle with severe traffic jams. Due to this, Square Enix will offer seven days more time for games on top of the seven options that they offer last week. According to Yoshida, this is to apply to all players (including those with multiple accounts) who have full power at Tuesday, 21 December, at 8 UTC.
Even more server overload.
Much like last time, Yoshida noted that the long queue times resulted in a high number of players logging in during peak times. Square Enix abruptly stopped offering free trials, because those who are currently playing through a free trial haven’t managed to log in outside of the late night and early morning hours. The company plans to phase this suspension in the next few days, as they work with retailers. Yoshida assured players that the company would coordinate with these retailers as quickly as possible, but he said that would still be a gradual process. Square Enix isn’t hesitant to suspend free trials and sales of Final Fantasy XIV. The company also dropped all new advertisements. Yoshida said that he can’t suspend any of these ads because of the way the developers set them up. Those potentially concerned about losing access to the expansions or the Collectors Editionsdigital upgrade need not worry, as they will stay available to the current players for the purpose of upgrading as needed.
What does it mean to the error 2022?
Yoshidas blog post contains some information about the error 2022 message that players had been getting along with in a login queue. This post cites a bug in the connection he made to create in FFXIV. The developers made many of our players realize that the bug was identified by the reports and the testing performed by the developers. The development process is a process for fixing this bug. Unfortunately, players excited about finishing Fantasy XIV have to deal with these queue times. They became serious enough to stand suspensions of free trials, and even game sales is very surprising. The problem will be solved, but in a sense it will happen soon enough.
