Comicbook.com spoke with director Jeff Fowler about his approach to the series. He needed to keep it simple but now, it is certainly best for the world to branch out in some ways. “For this first film we really were just looking at the 1991 game and just looking for where the entire story started,” Fowler began. “Just really try to nail Sonic and Robotnik and just set up a rivalry because you don’t… I mean, I love… There are lots of great characters in the Sonic universe, but most important, is just to get Sonic set up and just tell his origin story to you, and simply do it in a way that makes everyone love him and so, then joking the sack and trying to win. If all goes well then I’ll let you open the door and bring some of those other characters I love and know. And yeah, I mean, no one is more excited than I am to have such a wonderful opportunity.” Check out this post about this Christmas treat. “The world’s favourite blue hedgehog has returned to CONIC THE HEDGEHOG for a next-level adventure. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove that he has what it takes to be a true hero. If robotnik returns, then his partner, Knuckles, in search of a mate that destroys civilizations. Sonic team up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a trotting journey to find the emerald before it fell into the wrong hands. From the filmmakers behind The Fast and Deadpool, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Jim Carrey returning with new additions Shemar Moore, Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.” Are you excited for the 2-stage Sonic?
