The day after Liquids victory over Cloud9 Blue in the quarterfinals of VCT Champions, soulcas talked about the use of KAY/O during pre-semifinal press conferences, and he spoke of the agents’ ability and long-term potential. I can fly for my teammates, and get thrown into walking for myself. I can do stupid stuff, I can do stupid stuff. You’re getting better than the agent. I think he will be a best-in-class agent. I think they were going to see most teams playing KAY/O on at least certain maps after this tournament. Image from Riot Games. KAY/Os’ stature has already risen even in the last few months. At Masters Three, Berlin, he had only two percent pick rate, according to VLR.gg. Of 66, he was picked only in three of his maps, all by 100 Thieves. But here at Champions, that pick rate has risen to 18 percent overall, with 38 percent and 40 percent specific on Ascent and Breeze respectively. Liquid and soulcas, and particularly, get used to KAY/O in each and every Champions series they’ve played in and four out of seven maps they’ve played. They won three out of these four maps, on Bind, Breeze and Haven. Soulcascredits the time crunch between the KAY/Os release and the start of Masters Berlin a reason for not appearing so much at that event, but believes that will change with such a long break after Champions. Screengrab via Riot Games. I think that’s not as much fun as this. People aren’t comfortable playing with KAY/O and we didn’t really have much time to add him into team comps, but now, after the tournament, there’s a long break. So, definitely wanted to see more KAY/O. It’s worth noting that Liquid will run some more KAY/O against Acend in the semifinals of VCT Champions. Their opponents love to use him on both Breeze and Ascent. The two EU teams are competing on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 11 o’clock. Have fun and watch us onYouTubefor more news and analyses.
