Neither Nero nor Capsidal, both 19 years old, have played in the CDL. Nero represented the team WaR as a streamer before joining the LAG Academy roster in October 2020. He won the regional Challengers Cup in July, although the team finished top 6 in the North American Finals to finish the season. Capsidal played with a couple of teams during the 2021 Challengers season, competing with the likes of ACHES, Goonjar, Lacefield, and denz, the newly-appointed Boston CDL general manager. While he and his teams failed to win the top four of the Challengers Cup last season, Capsidal and his teammates GRVTY, Havok and Scrappy finished second in the first Vanguard Challengers event last weekend. Methodz spent the last two seasons on the Toronto Ultra but was benched in March for Insight. He did not return to the starting lineup in November and was released by the Toronto branch in November. TJHaLy had a similar 2021 season to Methodz when he was benched twice by the Los Angeles Thieves and released in August. Methodz and TJHaLy had been included in the rumored roster for the franchise that would have been operated by Washington Esports Ventures, the organization which owns and operates the Washington Justice in the Overwatch League. W.E. Ventures pulled out of negotiations to acquire a 12th CDL position in November, however. Kraft Sports and Entertainment finally acquired the 12. CDL franchise slot, which is expected to run by New England-based Oxygen Esports. Later this week, Denz and Zed announced their signings, respectively, as general manager and manager of the franchise. Denz and Zed played together in 2020 for the Paris Legion.
