As IGN reports, the problem is not in the games, but in the Rockstar player’s requirement that the Rockstar Games launcher be used to play them. The launcher quit working yesterday and has now been on the verge of turning off for over fifteen hours. It means that anyone who purchased the trilogy on launch day yesterday can’t play any of the three games until Rockstar gets the launcher running again. The Rockstar Support Twitter account explained that the Launcher is “temporarily off for maintenance” and that “Services will return when maintenance is done.” Since the developer was able to maintain the maintenance and downtime on the same day that it was launching a trilogy of games, this seems to be serious issue that Rockstar hasn’t publicly shared any details. PC gamers really feel frustrated and mad about this, so they’d like to know when they’d like to play the games they have just purchased. Rockstar continues to be tight-lipped about the situation, with the in-pete stating: “We thank you for your patience and understanding as we are continuing to work on restoring services to the Games Launcher and the supported titles.”
