The Gunk is going to release on December 16th. It will be available on the first day of launch via Xbox Game Pass for PC. The game was first revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase last year and displayed again on the Xbox Gamescom 2021 stream. While the release was already announced sometime in December, we have exact date. A new blog post from the developer confirmed the December 16 release date and the release of the game as a day-to-day Pass title. The Gunk is a multiplayer game developed by Thunderful Games (formerly Image & Form). The story is centered around Space explorers Rani and Becks who discovered a new alien planet with valuable natural resources. Although they were trying to collect the rare resources and make off with their riches, they discovered a dangerous substance called the gunk that can destroy the planet. Thus they must take their own will to save the planet by removing the corrupted gunk. The core gameplay loop is likely to involve exploration, solving challenging puzzles, survival, and crafting. It’s also said that Gunk is playable at 60 fps and can even be 4K. Thunderful Games featured a short gaming preview that was narrated by Ranis vocal actor Fiona Nova. This video showed us a better look at what we should expect from The Gunk in terms of gameplay, visuals, and world design. Gunk is going to launch the Xbox Game Pass PC on its December 16th release date. The console will be launched on the subscription service, too.
