The De Rune, who have a severe hunger for black rats and a dreadful plague of black rats, continue their sigh-on, seemingly unimaginable journey into the oblivion, set in 14th century France. Their new compadres venture south to find home and rest, but will still find themselves face-to-face with more turmoil, more despair and more piercing eyes. A torrid cacophony of squeaking returns. Our young heores get hardened through the journey which sees Amicia de Rune a little older, a bit more brave and a little more equipped for the threat of the blight. But she and his brother remain children and, as such, will have to use subterfuge, stealth, and smart adaptation of the environment so that they can’t get the officers of The Inquisition and other officers that they might’ve done harm. What the De Runes and their friends lack in size and strength, they take pride in their strengths, character, and spirit, and they are going to definitely need to survive this new nightmare. The good people of Destructoid know that I loved the original game. In hopes of learning the lessons learned and modern technology in tow Team Asobo will lead a new creepy and emotive adventure packed full of hope and heart, incredible locales, and a thorny adventure. As far as a novel’s story tells the story, that kind of film was very extraordinary, so I’m excited to see how this particular chapter will lead us. A Plague Tale: Requiem will launch in 2022 on PS5, PC, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch (via cloud). The sequel is coming to a close in the Game Pass.
