The VALORANT Champions Tour finished with Acend in the inaugural crown of the VALORANT Champions, but fans have plenty of exciting changes to watch out for in 2022. The EMEA VCT structure will change in the next year so that it suits the entire region, and all the localized territories within the vast EMEA umbrella will grow and maintain a healthy competition level, according to Riot Games. The game will provide a highly competitive platform for talent development with a national flair. Here are eight new batteries coming in 2022.
Spain: The Portuguese and Italian team are the winners of this league. France: The game is based on Freaks 4U Gaming, and players within Benelux qualify for this game. U.K., Ireland, and Nordics: Operated by Promod Esports. Poland + EWR: In Operation FRENZY, players from Israel have the right to win this league. GIG Me started the operation. WARNING: Failed by Calyx Gaming. Turkey: Organized by ESA Esports. DACH: Gamed by Freaks 4U Gaming.
The league has two stages throughout the year, each with a regular season and playoffs, where the champion will be determined. Some of the participating teams will be ruled out through VRL open qualifiers, which will take place at least once a season. The winners of the game are going on to the VCT. Every winner of the VRL competition in Stage Two will advance to the VRL EMEA Finals, although the number of selected spots and qualifiers may change depending on the VCT Promotion Tournament. The 2022 season, for each VRL season begins on Jan. 24th. The first split will start in the week of Feb. 14. The four EMEA teams who made it to ChampionsAcend, Gambit Esports, Team Liquid and Fnatic were invited back to VCT Stage one in 2022. Eight more spots will be available in each territory through two open and closed qualifying programs. Turkey will have two places for the EU and the last two. MENA teams compete in various areas of the competition. Teams can earn one of the eight VRLs in the first half of the VCT championship. This team will take on the only top two of these teams. Fans can expect a lot more game Changers content in 2022. Three CPT Game Changers series are expected to go on display in January, May and September. The teams who succeed in this event will earn a place in the Global Changers event, scheduled for November. According to Riot, the new Game Changers EMEA Academy also is a place for new players to compete in a safe place in six competitions all year long. The VCT Game Changers EMEA 2022 circuit will run parallel to the other EMEA ecosystem and allow these teams to compete at Game Changers and as virtual courts as well as virtual tours. New VALORANT Regional Circuits will also help develop and promote grassroots VALORANT talent across the region, said Riot. The new amateur competition requires players to do a lot of knowledge and create team-building points. The teams with the highest points at the end of the season will compete to become circuit champions. Several events in 2022 will be broadcast in at least eighty languages, thus allowing EMEA fans more opportunities than ever to enjoy the VALORANT content.
