What Bloomberg reports suggests is that Sony is already struggling to cope with demand for its latest console, but now its production will never meet its own target for the year. Sony previously set a target of 16 million units by the end of March 2022, but people familiar with the company’s operations believe that this will be 15 million. Only the chips lack, not just the console itself. In a call to invester last month, Sony CEO, Hiroki Totoki explained that logistics is also a problem. The rising COVID-19 infections and “unven vaccine rollouts” statewide, Sony relies on for supplies has been devoid of any of the common means of making them available in the production plant. As soon as we know, Sony did not disclose the truth. For the best of all, however, the rival console was admitted that it could not produce enough Switch consoles to meet demand this holiday season. Sony already suffers this situation, but it looks as if it’s getting worse this time around 2022.
