Release date
Sonic Frontiers is going to release an emergency version of the new series. However, considering the scale of the game and the difficulties incurred by the current pandemic, it will not surprise you if the title gets bumped to 2023. Frontiers looks to be a huge leap forward for the loveable hedgehog, but Sonic Team will unlikely rush it to the market.
Platforms
According to Sonic Team, Sonic Frontiers will be available on the following platforms:
PlayStation 5 PlayStation 4 One’s Xbox 7:S. Xbox One Nintendo Switch PC
It is unclear if all platforms will see the title coming on the same day (and which corners will be cut to bring it to Switch and last-gen consoles), but in fact the highly anticipated title is going to almost every console under the sun.
Trailer
Only one trailer has been released so far. It doesn’t reveal much. Having walked in at over a minute, the Announce Trailer shows Sonic leaping through a forest before catching a glimpse of his surroundings. We also catch some truncated enemies. You can watch it below:

Gameplay
No official gameplay has been revealed. It’s worth noting that Sonic Frontiers will handle when it arrives at the tail of 2022. A description on its official website covers a few points. The Sonic Frontiers site provides a fascinating experience; that you can accelerate and experience the thrill of high-velocity, open-zone liberalism. Go through the Starfall Islands with tough forests, overflowing waterfalls, sizzling deserts, and many more! Sonic Frontiers is clearly billed as an open-world game, but nothing is known beyond that exciting fact. Sonic, Tails and Amy were all announced for the cast by a Sonic Official Livestream, and it wouldn’t surprise us, as long as we saw Knuckles in the evening. The Sonic Team isn’t mentioning which antagonist Sonic will chase down in this installment, though Doctor Eggman seems to be a rational choice. Not only do the gigantic robots in the trailer fit his MO, but also giving him the right villain of Sonic Frontiers would give a free way to promote that game and create a new version of the game with the upcoming video soundtrack for 2022.
Multiplayer
Sonic Team hasn’t revealed any other details about multiplayer. The title isn’t listed on Steam currently as a multiplayer action-adventure game. It’s very possible to add co-op in the future, but now, Sonic Frontiers sounds like it is a solo outing.
DLC
It is unclear what DLC plans have been revealed for Sonic Frontiers.
