Over the years, thousands of ABK employees have tried to make our companies safer and better at work, said Valentine Powell, an experienced UI engineer on Twitter. Before we look at unionisation, we have exhausted a lot of options as possible.

Activision Blizzard employees think they’ll work together.

Activision blizzard has been in a variety of sexual assault and discrimination lawsuits over the past five months. The lawsuits allege that Activision Blizzard had invented an elaborate culture that encouraged sexual harassment against female employees. According to the allegations, a number of employees were also denied pay raises and were demoted for speaking out. In response to these reports of working conditions, many employees have begun to examine the unionization process. The National Labor Relations Board says that if 30% of employees vote towards unionization, the NLRB will force a union vote and the employees will start negotiations with the company. Employers are forced to comply and if they don’t, the workers can strike themselves. Activision Blizzards’ response to the lawsuits is accelerating the process. Workers from the ABK have also begun a strike on Dec. 7. The planners ask: “Why not?”

The unjust termination of their employees allowed a reform. Hire all the members of the Raven Quality Assurance who frequently come up with contracts for years.

Today, the working force of the ABK announces the commencement of a strike. We encourage our members of the game industry to collaborate to create lasting change. A quick description of game unions.

The first reported strike related to video games was in September 2017. In September 2017 voice actors took part in the fight against the videogame industry. After that, several game developers in the Game Developers conference in 2018, discussed the concept of Union Now? Those advantages, severances and pitfalls of a game, of course, are the foundations for our unionization. The event turned into an online conversation, campaign and finally the formation of a game workers union. Game Workers Unite isn’t an entire union. It’s a group who pushes unionization efforts in the games industry. Members are spreading the awareness of workers rights and working with players to unionize. Game Workers Unite is a member of the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain and is the only official union within Game Workers Unite. Unionization has become a common topic within the industry since Game Workers Unite formed; developers in the world have shared more stories of abuse, cruelness, unpaid overtime, and unsatisfaction among the workers. Activision Blizzard provides the latest evidence of these practices. In the most recent step before the unionization effort, Activision Blizzard laid off twelve quality assurance contractors from Raven Software after asking them to relocate without any help. According to a news report, the company made over 2 billion dollars in the past five months. Activision Blizzard just teaches us how to fail. Tom Smith, director of communications for the United States, told The Washington Post. As long as I’m a Blizzard player, it breaks me and as a trade unionist, it’s quite disgusting. However, I think this new controversy at Raven is completely inflicted by the management’s part. The company reacted by calling for unionization. Activision executives received an email on Friday morning from the employee. In this email, Bulatao said that we asked only you to take time to learn about how you sign it. Activision exec Brian Bulatao sent a memo to staff this morning telling you to consider the consequences of your signature on union cards. Unions continue to grow around the world.

On the same day that the ABK workers announced a virtual strike, several podcast producers, editors, researchers, writers and hostes of iHeartMedia announced they would unionize with the Writers Guild of America. Organizations efforts at the media company are just one example of how unions are getting hotter. The creators of iHearts podcasts are working together to give us an idea of how the best route is, so that iHeart can remain competitive, retain existing talent and attract new voices in the network, and create a more democratic, transparent, democratic, fair workplace, argues the company in a statementnnouncing the union, in an interview. The John Deere workers fired a month of strikes on Nov. 18 a.m. In 2023 and 2025, more than 10,000 employees returned to work with a new $8,500 signing bonus and 5% pay raise. UAW members didn’t just unify themselves, said the President of the United States. They seem to unify the nation in a fight for equality at work. We’re so proud of these UAW members and their families. Those unions could be on the rise in the game industry, and even though there aren’t any of these in the United States, the ABK Workers Alliance could change that. The union at Activision Blizzard, one of the world’s largest game developers, could set an old precedent.
